What are you currently watching or reading?

Lately, I’ve been binge-reading books, having read five in the last month. I just finished‌ Anyone Out There by Marian Keyes, and I’m on the lookout for something new.

What is your favorite thing about sports? 

It’s hard to choose. But one thing I appreciate most about sports is the level of dedication, sacrifice, and mental fortitude each athlete puts into their game. It teaches us if we’re willing to work hard, we can achieve great things. But, at the same time, it also shows us how highs and lows are a part of the journey of sports and, on a grander scale, life.   

Why should a child read your book? 

Most kids love sports. If you ask them if they have a favorite athlete, they can usually list a few with ease, but they might not know much about those athletes or how they got to be the best at what they do. Sports Superstars from Black History provides kids with interesting facts, history, and details of six of the most celebrated and awarded athletes in current history. And it will also introduce them to six pioneering Black athletes who paved the way, breaking down barriers and opening doors for those who came after. This book is for curious kids who want to know more. Whether they’re young achievers, sports fans, or Black history enthusiasts, this book is their guide to discovery.
